I got up and headed to the pool when they opened at 9am. I donned my spf 50 on my fair Polish skin. I was excited to wear my new suit: a size I haven’t been in since high school. The pools were gorgeous and a little on the chilly side but even at 9 the sun was HOT. I lasted an hour before I was getting pink!
I headed up to the room, showered, and wandered around to find lunch. I stopped at Pronto! By Giada thinking it’s gotta be good. Not a fan of her paninis. With time to burn I figured why not try roulette. It was $25 min between so I knew I wouldn’t last long. I played a few hours but ultimately walked away with nothing. Back at the room, still time to burn, I binge watched some Grey’s Anatomy until Ed got out of his conference.
I got ready for dinner in this new dress that I was nervous to pull off-or rather put on-but I did it! I think I cleaned up nice. We had reservations at Gordon Ramsay's Steak over at the Paris Hotel. We opted for the Chef’s table experience. They came out and talked to us, we had amazing seats of all the action. They brought out the meat trolley and explained the different cuts and I knew there was no way I could get that big of a steak.
I had king crab legs as a starter. They cut into the legs so I didn’t have to do any work but drenched it in butter which was kinda gross. I’m a simply steamed gal. I ordered sea scallop risotto off the appetizer menu and had them add extra scallops to make it a meal. They finished it with some kind of chili paste and it was inedible for me. Ed opted for the beef Wellington.
They came over to check on us and noticed I hadn’t touched the risotto and Ed spoke up for me and they made me a new risotto! I wasn’t expecting that but the second batch was delicious. We decided on a whim to order 4 oz of Wagyu A5 Kobe beef, medium rare. Omg. It melted like butter. The flavor was out of this world. It should at $62/oz. We had ordered some puréed potatoes as well and by the time we got through everything dessert was not even an option.
I literally had to race back to the hotel because I started feeling ill. So much for a romantic evening.
