Once again, I woke up before my alarm. I decided to lie around awhile journaling before I started getting ready for my day. Breakfast at Cafe Americano again, this time the all American. I don’t know why I bother. Like all I could eat was 2 eggs, a piece of toast and a few bites of ham. It also came with breakfast potatoes which I love but there just was no room.

I made my way via taxi to OneWorld Interactive Aquarium that was about 15 minutes off the strip, located in a strip mall. Right next to a movie theater, entertainment center and a huge Goodwill. I had weird vibes but I went with it. I paid $66 and some change for general admission, a wristband for interactions, and the otter encounter.

When I got there they weren’t open yet so I waited outside the store. I mean, that’s what it was. It was literally in a shopping mall. I saw this psychic chicken game but it wouldn’t take my dollar. I really wanted my fortune told by a psychic chicken.

Finally, they lifted the metal gate and the smell flooded my nostrils. It was horrible. I realize animals smell but this was bad. Like unclean cages. I checked in, got my green wristband, and started making my way through the exhibits. The wristband gave me unlimited stingray feeding, so I fed those hungry beasties. They were actually pretty cute. I talked to the parrots. I stuck my feet in an aquarium with little fish and let them suck dead skin off my feet. Yes, really. I really wanted to feed the parakeets but they weren’t interested. That’s fine. Feeding them through chicken wire wouldn’t have been all that anyway.

Finally, it was time for my otter encounter! I was ready to hug an otter. Aaaand that didn’t happen. I fed them through a hole in the plexiglass. I got to hand feed them, got to feel their little webbed fingers snatch food from my hands, but that was it.

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend visiting this attraction. Not for what it cost versus how I felt the animals were treated. They seemed really hungry. I had an all-day pass but I left after an hour and 15 minutes. I had seen everything.

I was told when I booked that I’d have no problem getting a taxi or Uber. I walked back outside of the mall…not a taxi in sight as expected. I “called” an Uber. The first one canceled on me. I was nervous. How in the hell was I getting back? The second Uber came through. Whew. Had a great chat with a male hairstylist who had shown me his work on IG. He has dreams of becoming a flight attendant. I really enjoyed the ride.

I had him drop me off at The D off Fremont Street to try my luck at roulette again. It was not a repeat experience. After a few hours and yesterday’s winnings and then some I had to call it. It just wasn’t my lucky day at the table.

I walked around a bit, did some souvenir shopping. I finally got my fortune told by Zoltar. I should practice the word “no”. Interesting. I decided to grab some lunch at Whiskey Licker Up at Binion’s and sat on the upper deck to people watch. I watched as riders soared by on the zip line and looked below at stumbling tourists and street performers trying to make a buck. There was a huge dancing gorilla, Chippendale dancers, Showgirls, and random other performers. I finished up some garlic knots with marinara and made my way to find a taxi to head back to Caesar’s Palace. My driver was nice. He gave me some advice: don’t press your luck. I basically should have stopped on a high note and not gone back to Fremont to try and win again lol.

Back at the room I filled Ed in on my day, shared my pictures and videos, and we went and had a drink with his boss. Dinner tonight was at the Bacchanal Buffet at Caesar’s Palace, roughly $110pp. Was it worth it? I mean, it was good but no. I can’t eat that much. I had a very yummy prime rib, snow crab, cocktail shrimp and some Boursin mashed potatoes. I think I’ll have to try making those mashed potatoes at home.

Back at the room I filled up the jacuzzi tub for a soak. I really need one for the house. Jealous of you who have one! Who has time anymore for relaxing soaks as a busy mom?

Not I.

Looking forward to a pool day tomorrow!
