Affordable Smoky Mountain Christmas - Day 1

Beautiful view of Cades Cove
Beautiful view of Cades Cove

We just returned from our annual trip to the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area for our affordable Smoky Mountain Christmas. This is our journal and pics. Hope you find it entertaining! Also, these are pics that each of us took. It’s interesting to see the different “lens”.

This begins our annual trip to the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area. The drive was nothing remarkable. We stopped in Clarksville, Tn at the Fairfield Inn and Suites for the night. As I was driving at night on the highway (2 lanes) I just kept thinking…man I hope I don’t hit a deer. Soooo many on the side of the road. Ed said we didn’t have to grocery shop. Eww.

Ed forgot his toiletries bag so we made a Walmart run. Why is it that my family cannot go into a store and not walk out with a Squishmallow?

We get to the hotel and I auto-open the back door on the Explorer. The largest suitcase we have literally comes flying out and landed at my feet. Talk about service!

We got there too late so we couldn’t swim. I crashed after driving 4 hours.
