Prawns!
Prawns!

Another early start to the day as we headed to Cairns on a 7am flight. Cairns, pronounced Caans, is on the northeastern part of Australia. Thankfully our hotel room was available so we could unwind for a bit. We booked two days on the Great Barrier Reef and one at the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park - Culture Centre. So today is a down day.

We all tried kangaroo for lunch. It was really good! We also had prawns which were not that good. I just...I don't know. The heads throw me off.

After a nap, which we needed, off to the pool for a bit even though it rained.

For dinner, we went to the night markets. It's a court of souvenir shops that look pretty sketchy but good prices. Found this gem. I'll just put this riiiight here.

Kangaroo Scrotum pouch found in night market, Cairns, Australia
Yes, it really is a kangaroo scrotum

Now to get ready for day 1 of snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef tomorrow!

I wouldn’t be eating those prawns either, and I would have bought the kangaroo scrotum too 🤣🤣
